A lot has happened since my last post.

  • Apr. 7th, 2009 at 12:06 PM

I have a book under contract by Eirelander Publishing due out on November 20, 2009 entitled The Risen: Queen of the Ghost Drakon. I am very proud of the book and am currently working on getting it ready for publication.

My son is in Great Lakes, IL at Naval Basic Training. I am very proud of him. I can't wait to see him again.

Hit a speed bump with Blood Diamonds

  • Feb. 23rd, 2009 at 4:33 PM

I received a reject for Blood Diamonds and thought I fixed most of it. After some critiquing, I realized that perhaps I may need to rethink resubmitting the changes to Blood Diamonds. Everything is up in the air right now.

Blood Diamonds Blurb

  • Feb. 7th, 2009 at 3:00 PM

I've been promising a blurb so here it is. I hope you enjoy!

What started as an innocent trip into Bijoutier’s Fine Jewelry store for a birthday present turns the lives of Opal Bijoutier and Detective Joshua Hannigan upside down and into each other’s arms. A robbery of gemstones and invoices leads to a twenty-two year old mystery that’s clues has already caused one death and two attempted murders. The clues also lead to the possibility of a five hundred twenty nine carat pear shaped blood diamond worth at least ten million dollars. Josh follows the clues with Opal and her family and tries to keep her alive long enough to explore their future together.

One another note, my cell phone ceased to function. After many phone calls, it will be replaced for free! I got it over the summer so it was way to soon for it to die. I should have the new phone by Friday. We'll see about that.

Blood Diamonds has been submitted.

  • Feb. 2nd, 2009 at 1:58 PM

Blood Diamonds has been submitted to e-publishers. Now it's the waiting game! Starting Whiskey Whispers of the Past today. It is Ira and Brennen McCarrick's story. Brennen's past tangles with Ira's present and drama and suspense break out!

It has been awhile. Blood Diamonds is complete and is currently with my lovely CP right now as is my synopsis which is like a condensed version of the story. My query letter is almost complete! Soon it'll be time to send Blood Diamond out to some publishers. Haven't decided on print or e-pub. I have some time for that yet.

It's been a while since I last blogged.

  • Jan. 17th, 2009 at 12:36 PM

It's been a while since my last blog.

I'm currently working on two manuscripts. Blood Diamonds, my spicy contemporary/suspense and Dragon Rising, my spicy paranormal. Good progress has been made on both.

I will be posting excerpts if you are interested. Please, feel free to tell me what you think. Good or bad.

It's been a few days since I blogged

  • Nov. 10th, 2008 at 3:11 PM

Blood Diamonds is on schedule. I am a little over half way done with the story. Since Friday I have written a little over 12k. A lot has happened in the story. I did have to do some editing and additions to earlier chapters. But it's coming together.

The heroine and the good detective's love is growing, though I removed the marriage proposal. They are slowly getting closer to figuring out why the jewelry store was robbed. Now they are faced with deciphering a mystery set of numbers that will eventually lead them to the answer they seek.

I introduced a character that will lead into the next story should I decide to write a second story. Another sexy detective named Micah. We'll have to see how it all goes.

Day four of Blood Diamonds

  • Nov. 6th, 2008 at 3:41 PM

Today I just missed my goal of 5k by 34 words. I am happy with my progress today.

Let's see. My heroine realized she did indeed love the good detective while she was standing in her parent's dining room. After professing their love for one another, in front of her family, the heroine's sister's joked as to when the wedding was. The good detective commented that he didn't have a ring for her. The heroines mother to the rescue. With engagement ring in hand, he dropped to one knee....

I'm hoping to have a good day tomorrow.

Blood diamond is one third of the way toward my goal of roughly 70k, though I believe it may surpass that. We shall see.

I was saddened to learn yesterday that Tuesday the literary world lost a great writer. Michael Crichton's The Andromeda Strain was the second suspense/adventure novel that I ever read. I saw the movie first and had to read the book. In this case, the book was better than the movie. Then came Jurassic Park and Congo. Crichton, along with Clive Cussler, introduced me to a genre of writing that I never imagined I'd enjoy. I was a strictly a romance reader. Now I'm happy to have their books in my reading room.

My thoughts and prayers go to his family.

Three days into Blood Diamonds

  • Nov. 5th, 2008 at 3:00 PM

After another long night waiting for election results, concession speeches and a victory speech created another below average day. My daily goal is 5k. I got through 3.9k today. Not bad but I can do better.

So far...My heroine spent the night with the good detective. After having a nightmare about the robbery, the good detective made sure the heroine was under his protective custody, literally under him. They are developing both physical and emotional feeling for one another. Love at first sight seems like a sure thing.

I'm two days into the story itself. Day one was the robbery and the start of the aftermath, day two is the aftermath and the investigation into the robbery has begun with a twist popping up.

Hopefully, I'll get through more tomorrow.

Second Day into Blood Diamonds

  • Nov. 4th, 2008 at 2:39 PM

After a sleepless night and spending an hour in line to vote, I wrote approx. 4.1k today. Not as well as yesterday but an accomplishment nonetheless.

So far my heroine's jewelry store was robbed and she suffered superficial injuries. A gorgeous cop, whom she'd been lusting after for months, though never met, saves her life but the thief escapes. She is now under his protective custody, in more ways than one. She never believed in love at first sight, but now she is wondering....

Novel Beginnings, Literally

  • Nov. 3rd, 2008 at 9:11 PM

Today I started my first novel, Blood Diamonds. I got through 9k. I am extremely pleased with my progress today. My goal is to complete at least 70k by the end of the month. We all must have goals.
